Abstract:
The study investigated the influence of monitoring practices on healthcare service delivery in
Luweero Town Council, Luweero District. The study objectives were to determine how data
collection monitoring influences healthcare service delivery in Luweero Town Council; to
assess how quality and safety monitoring influence healthcare service delivery in Luweero
Town Council; and to examine how equipment and facility monitoring influence healthcare
service delivery in Luweero Town Council. The study employed a descriptive survey design
with a mixed approach. From a population of 400, a sample size of 200 respondents was used.
Data were collected using questionnaires and interview guides. Qualitative data were analyzed
using content analysis, while quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential
statistics (correlations and regression analysis). It is revealed that there is a positive and
significant relationship between data collection monitoring and healthcare service delivery.
Effective data collection monitoring significantly influences healthcare service delivery in
Luweero Town Council. Additionally, there is a positive and significant relationship between
Quality and safety monitoring and healthcare service delivery, which means effective Quality
and safety monitoring significantly influences their performance. There is a positive and
significant relationship between equipment and facility monitoring and healthcare service
delivery. This means effective equipment and facility monitoring significantly influences
healthcare service delivery in Luweero Town Council, Luweero District. It is recommended
that the Ministry of Health to invest in robust data management systems to ensure accurate and
timely collection of health information. This infrastructure should support interoperability
between different healthcare providers to facilitate seamless data sharing. The Ministry of
Health to establish standardized clinical protocols to ensure consistent quality of care across
healthcare facilities. This can reduce variability in treatment outcomes and enhance patient
safety. The Ministry of Health to establish real-time monitoring systems for medical equipment
and facilities to ensure timely maintenance and reduce downtime, thereby enhancing service
delivery.
